Professional Bio

Dr. Kawasaki is a Research Associate Professor with a background in molecular biology and genomics. His research interests include developmental genetics, dento-craniofacial patterning and development, and interactions between the chondrocranium and the dermatocranium. He is also investigating the origin of lactation and the evolution of mineralized tissues by characterizing SCPP genes in duckbilled platypus, coelacanth, gar, pufferfish, zebrafish, nurse shark, and lamprey.
