As part of the American Association for Anatomy’s Virtual Meeting Week, each day a new winner of the AAA BioArt competition is announced. Susan M. Motch Perrine, Joan T. Richtsmeier, and Kazuhiko Kawasaki of the Richtsmeier Lab, along with colleagues Danny Chen and Hao Zheng of the University of Notre Dame, were announced as winners on April 8th. The winning image depicts automatically segmented cartilage and skin from a microCT scan of a mouse at embryonic day 14.5. This image is used to examine how early cartilaginous structures serve as a structural and functional scaffold for development of the head. Congratulations!
