Graduate student Kate Lesciotto awarded scholarship to attend the AAA Science Communication Boot Camp

Richtsmeier Lab graduate student Kate Lesciotto was awarded a scholarship to attend the Science Communication Boot Camp (SCBC), sponsored by the American Association for Anatomists and hosted at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. The SCBC is designed to teach participants how to communicate complex scientific information effectively to those outside the discipline and includes hands-on workshops facilitated by the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science, mock interviews with local media outlets, and training for communicating with policymakers. As part of the scholarship, Kate has also been invited to participate in the 2020 FASEB Capital Hill Day, when representatives of AAA will advocate for science to members of Congress in Washington, DC.
