New paper on chondrocranium and dermatocranium development and association

In collaboration with Danny Chen’s group at the University of Notre Dame, the Richtsmeier lab published a paper demonstrating that chondrocranium and dermatocranium development are associated and that mutations in Fgfr significantly alter skull shape, in part via the chondrocranium.  We provide new data regarding the role of the chondrocranium in normal craniofacial development and shed light on the putative correspondence between chondrocranial elements and dermal skull bones. https://doi.org/10.7554/eLife.76653
